Chokma and Hello!
Here you will find my completed works and ongoing projects. I hope that whatever your day brings, a little light has been added to it.
As a Content Development Intern for the All My Relations Podcast, I was granted the phenomenal opportunity of taking creative lead on this hilarious and powerful episode! I was responsible for developing story arcs, research, editing, and writing (including the adorable episode description). A HUGE thank you to Matika Wilbur, Teo Shantz, and everyone else on the AMR Team for providing me with the dream hands-on internship experience!
I am a Chickasaw storyteller who strives to promote Indigenous truths through art. Currently, I do freelance writing and creative consulting for clients like Ancestry.com where I work to promote accurate stories of Indigenous people to diverse audiences. I also work for the Duke Gardens Equity Through Stories Program where I am creating an interactive exhibit featuring oral histories from tribal members across the Carolinas to educate the Gardens’ 500,000+ annual visitors. Additionally, I am a staff writer for The Wellian Magazine, a student publication devoted to exploring hard truths. My op-eds have also been published by the Duke Chronicle, the Duke Magazine, and the most popular Indigenous news outlet, Indian Country Today.
Previously, I have worked for the famous Indigenous-centered podcast, All My Relations, as a content development intern to draft scripts, develop and edit story arcs, and perform research to discover new topics and ensure factual accuracy. I have also worked for the Indian Arts and Crafts Board to independently produce a film called The Blackfeet, The Great Northern Railway, and Glacier National Park. It features oral histories I collected from prominent Blackfeet elders and imagery from an extensive photo archive. This work has been published by the Indian Arts and Crafts Board and will be exhibited at the Museum of the Plains Indian.
I am proud to be a 2021 Udall Scholar. The Udall Scholarship is one of the most competitive national scholarships in the United States!
